• Robert (Rob) Maynes is the founder and managing partner of the firm Maynes Taggart PLLC and practices in the areas of bankruptcy, commercial, real property and business law. Rob has represented creditors, debtors, committees and trustees in all proceedings under chapters 7, 11, 12 and 13 of the Bankruptcy Code. He also is experienced in non-bankruptcy solutions including forbearance agreements, corporate restructuring, distressed sales and related negotiations. From small sole proprietorships or partnerships to large corporate entities, Rob enjoys assisting clients with all their business, financial and legal needs.

Rob is currently the chairman of the Bankruptcy Local Rules Advisory Committee and is a past chair of the Commercial Law and Bankruptcy Section of the Idaho State Bar (2016-2017).

His legal career began as a bankruptcy law clerk for the Honorable Robert W. Alberts in the United States Bankruptcy Court in the Central District of California. Judge Alberts hired Rob after getting to know him as a judicial extern during law school. While working for Judge Alberts, Rob was exposed to large corporate reorganizations from restaurant conglomerates to gasoline stations, to individual consumer cases.

Rob started his own law practice in 2004 when he and Heather (née Whipple) returned to Idaho Falls, Heather’s hometown. Rob credits his survival of those early years to Heather and many friends and mentors in the local bar. Their kind and patient guidance helped show Rob the ropes of legal practice.

Rob and Heather are the proud parents of two beautiful and brilliant daughters and three handsome and hardworking sons. Rob particularly enjoys spending time with his family, watching movies, playing games, shooting hoops in the driveway, fishing and camping together.
